Meghalaya Police Sub Inspector Selection Process Details :

Selection Procedure :
Meghalaya Police Sub Inspector selection process will consists of following stages i.e, Preliminary Measurement Tests, Registration and Authentication of candidates, 10 km Race for Male and 5.5 km Race for Female Candidates and Timing Equipment, Physical Tests, Written Tests and Personal Interview.

1) Preliminary Measurement Tests :
Candidates will be subjected to preliminary medical tests before they go for physical tests/written tests. Only those who qualified in the preliminary medical tests will be allowed to appear in the physical tests. Candidates who do not meet the standards of minimum Height requirement as prescribed will be rejected and further test events of such rejected candidates will not be conducted.

2) Registration and Authentication of candidates :
After the Physical Measurement Test, the candidates with temporary admit cards will be required to register themselves at the PET registration counters at the venue of recruitment for biometric data such as Candidates’ Finger Prints in respect of each candidate which will be captured by the bio-metric application software.

3)10 km Race for Male and 5.5 km Race for Female Candidates :
Each Candidate will be issued with a lockable Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, to be tied to his/her leg. The automated timing equipment based on RFID technology will be geared to record start time, finish time and net time of all runners individually. Those who do not finish the race within the minimum prescribed time will be issued a rejection letter and they are not allowed to participate in other subsequent recruitment events. 10 KM race for male candidates will have to be completed within 55 minutes and 5.5 KM race for female candidates will have to be completed within 34 minutes.

4) Physical Tests (Qualifying) :
The scheme of recruitment tests to the post of ABSI and the maximum marks assigned for each event shall be as follows:

(i) Physical Efficiency Test – 200 Marks
(ii) Written Examination – 200 Marks
(iii) Interview – 50 Marks
Total maximum marks – 450

All candidates should clear/ qualify the above minimum standards of the physical tests before they are allowed to appear the written tests.

5) Written Tests :
Only those candidates, who qualify in the physical tests, will be allowed to appear in the written examination which consists of three papers. Paper I will contain questions on General English, Paper II will have questions on Elementary mathematics, reasoning and basic science of matriculation standard and Paper III will have questions on General knowledge based mainly on Meghalaya. All question papers will be set on multiple choice basis and OMR pattern.

6) Personal Interview :
The Central Selection Board shall decide the number of candidates to be called for interview based on the total number of vacancies. Personal interview will be conducted for 50 Marks. Candidates who have qualified in the written tests will be required to attend the interviews which will be intimated in due course. No separate intimation regarding interviews will be sent.

Based on the total marks secured by candidates in the written tests and Interviews taken together, the rank list will be finalized and the result will be published accordingly, in the order of merit.
